Circles and Curves Shoot 6
Plans for shoot
To take photos of circles and curves using a different media other than paint, I would like to use make up. To create make up looks around the eye using circles and curves.

Images that require improvement
I have selected the following images above for all similar reasons. The way I was photographing there was a bigger chance for mistakes shown above to occur. In the images you can see a shadow, which is the cameras shadow of the lens. I knew to correct this I had to hold the camera further away from the object of focus, and to zoom in instead. Because of the constant need to move the camera around to get better angles and a better positioning, the focus in some of my images are all wrong. In some images the focus was not on the whole eye area, rather a specific part of the face. An example of that focus is shown in the last photo I selected, my eye is out of focus however my eye liner is in focus.
AO3: Record ideas, observations and insights relevant to intentions, reflecting critically on work and progress.
My intentions for this shoot was to photograph a make up look which incorporates circles or curves into it. Initially I wanted to create a colourful and creative look, however I found the circles I had was too big to create a design just on the eye, so therefore I decorated around it. But as I experimented with other medias I had, I decided to use an eye liner to create a more finished make up look. I believe more details could've been added, for example eye shadow, however I am pleased with the outcome of the overall look. However I could improve this shoot by changing the way I am taking the photos. I could start by using a tripod to make my images more consistent and straight. I could also use a model rather than myself, a downside to this is that I am not as good doing make up on other people.

AO2: Explore and select appropriate resources, media, materials, techniques and processes, reviewing and refining ideas as work develops.
To develop my images further I want to experiment with different filters, for example seeing the images in black and white or with a more vibrant saturation. I also need to clean up any blemishes or mistakes on the face, making the image look sharper and more professional.

AO1: Develop ideas through sustained and focused investigations informed by contextual and other sources, demonstrating analytical and critical understanding.
My research into make up looks helped to inspire me to use circles in a different way. I love how I used spots to create a cat eye and I believe it was very successful. My research into Irving Penn also influenced me to create something different, as his make up looks are all very abstract also.

AO4: Present a personal and meaningful response that realises intentions and, where appropriate, makes connections between visual and other elements.
