Circles and Curves Shoot 7

Circles and Curves Shoot 7

Plans for shoot
To experiment taking photos out of the studio and to use new and old photos to overlay and create circles and curves on Photoshop. For example a plain concrete wall can be used to create images on in Photoshop.

Images that require improvement

AO3: Record ideas, observations and insights relevant to intentions, reflecting critically on work and progress.

My ideas for this shoot was to photograph different patterns that I will then edit onto other images I've taken as an overlay. With these photos I have experimented with different apertures and focus to then see which looks better as a background. To get these images I found different patterns, for example wallpapers and photographed them. I photographed these photos in direct sunlight at a birds eye view; This technique worked, however sometimes sunlight was inconsistent ( shadows ) and most of my images aren't straight or centred properly. To improve this I could've hung the patterns up or went out to find any patterns and then use a tripod. I will be using previous photos to experiment with these patterns and editing, using different blending tools and changing the opacity to find a desired look. I will then take new photos to use for final edits.

AO2Explore and select appropriate resources, media, materials, techniques and processes, reviewing and refining ideas as work develops.

I will be using Photoshop and experimenting with these images to use as backgrounds or to add patterns to other objects.

In the image above I have layered one of my images over the top and then lowered the opacity to 55% , I then changed the blend to 'Darken' and I really love the result of this. I further explored the different blends and found a few more of my favourite results displayed below.

AO1: Develop ideas through sustained and focused investigations informed by contextual and other sources, demonstrating analytical and critical understanding.

AO4: Present a personal and meaningful response that realises intentions and, where appropriate, makes connections between visual and other elements.
